Hi,
we're currently determining our strategy concerning mass storage and
distributed filesystems. Afs (Dfs) seems to be the way to go.
We've collected a lot of information, but some things remain unclear, in terms
of how other sites (or vendors) attack the problem of archiving in combination
with AFS.
Can anyone shine some light on this ? We would like to have the combination
of a hierarchical filesystem and AFS. An implementation with e.g. UNItree
seems to cause problems, since UNItree will only manage it's own filesystem.
How do other sites go about this ?
Is there archiving software which interfaces well with Afs ??
