I can't image trying to use ADM by itself in a production environment.
Also available is a utility Environment Maintenance Tool (EMT) authored by
David Markley of Carnegie Mellon which has a tty interface,
authenticates the user, and sends Scheme commands via RPC to an ADM server.
EMT commands are devoted to depot collection management and depot environment
management.
We (alw.nih.gov) have found EMT promising, but lacking an interface that
can be safely used by general users in our cell who want to administer their
own depot collections. To remedy this, I have been working on an X-windows
interface for EMT. I'll be at AFSUG in Pittsburg and would be happy to discuss
this work in progress with anyone interested.
