Hi,
I recently attached a Maxtor 8760S (670M) hard drive to one of our
file servers, an HP 720 running HP-UX 8.0.7 and AFS 3.2 (hp700_ux807).
I'm now having trouble with the 'vos move' command. I can't seem to move
volumes off this partition without errors. Here's the message I get:
% vos move user.mjh dusk c riafs2 c
Failed to move data for the volume 536873252
Could not end transaction on either the source volume 536873252 or its clone 536
873256
Possible communication failure

I can move volumes on to it without problems and can move real small
volumes, <2M, off of it but anything larger fails. I'm also seeing
similar error messages when I try to dump a volume on this partition
to tape via 'backup dump'. Occasionally 'fs' dumps core as well, but not
every time.
Has anyone seen anything like this on a file server under HP-UX where
you're using a non-HP disk?
