I understand that we registered our usage of the 7000 ports with the

RFC 1340 is the authority for assigned port numbers.  I was surprised to
find that it does not list the common X protocol ports, which start at 6000.
It lists the following reserved afs port numbers:

   afs3-fileserver 7000/tcp   file server itself

   afs3-callback   7001/tcp   callbacks to cache managers
   afs3-callback   7001/udp   callbacks to cache managers
