X.500 cell names in dfs

if I try to do something like:

  ls /.../c=uk/o=hp/ou=hp8005/fs

how do we ever get the cellname, "c=uk/o=hp/ou=hp8005", out of dfs?  The
kernel passes out a piece (slash delimited) at a time to the dfsbind
helper, so how does the helper ever get the whole thing to pass to GDAD
for resolution?
