AFS 3.3 cache performance

Has anyone noticed a dramatic change in cache performance in migrating
>From AFS 3.2 to 3.3? 

We've found that a large client cache (more than 32,000 cache entries)
on a special AFS netnews server performs so inefficiently under 3.3 that
the service becomes unusable.  All other things equal, reverting back to
3.2 results in a very dramatic increase in system performance.
