Hi,
There was a discussion on this forum before (I think about a year ago) on
why (or why not) put /usr/spool/mail on AFS. This is taking into account
that all machines forward all their mail to a mail hub and nothing is
delivered locally so essentially /usr/spool/mail is accessed either by
mail readers (elm, pine, mailx, etc) from the workstations or by
sendmail/binmail from the mail hub.
Can someone enlight me on the matter please? The whole idea is to get
rid of NFS locking nightmares (mailbox corruption) and sessions being
hung while /usr/spool/mail NFS partition is not available when the server
is down.
thanks in advance,
