folks,

One of our people ran into a problem using compress (SunOS) in which
uncompressing a file in a volume without enough space caused the file
to be truncated to 0 bytes. This was quite annoying because it was a
large file that had taken a long time to ftp to our site

Someone else at our site mentioned that they had heard of a "fixed"
compress:

Does anyone know of this compress and where I might find it?

thanks,
