Programming with DCE teaches the programmer the concepts behind each of the components of DCE. The class is 5 days long with 50% of the class time devoted to hands-on activities to reinforce concepts taught during the lecture periods. Only Transarc offers multiple hardware platforms together in one classroom. This course will be offered in Pittsburgh, PA, starting August 8, 1994, at a cost of $2000 per enrollee. Programming with Encina provides a foundation for writing transactional client/server applications using the Encina products. This is a 5 day course with more than 50% of the class time devoted to hands-on labs and activities. This course will be offered starting November 14, 1994, in Pittsburgh, PA, for $2500 per enrollee. ON-SITE USER TRAINING AVAILABLE New hands-on user-level training classes can be scheduled at the customer site for AFS and for DCE. In the AFS course, students learn the basics of AFS, the functionality it provides, and a high-level understanding of the components of the system. The DCE course addresses basic user issues such as DCE login, access control lists and running standard DCE programs. Lectures for both courses are reinforced through hands-on examples on customer supplied equipment. Each course is priced at $2500 for a one day class.
