The following system administration classes are being offered at Transarc
Corporation's Pittsburgh, PA location.
10/31/94 - 11/02/94 AFS System Administration
This course prepares students to configure, install, and manage the AFS
distibuted file system. Terms and concepts, management tasks and trouble-
shooting techniques presented will train students to be effective, proactive
AFS administrators.
10/31/94 - 11/02/94 DCE System Administration
This class teaches the funcionality of each compnint of the DCE Secore
Core, as well as the interaction between the various compnents. This class
also addresses tacks that a system administrator will need to perform, such
as backup/restore, cell re-configuration, and security issues.
11/03/94 - 11/04/94 DFS System Administration
This class covers the functionality of DFS, and the different
components that comprise the distributed filesystem. This class includes
important background information and focuses on task a system administrator
will need to perform such as fileset administration, client and server machine
adminisration, backup and restore, and DFS account administration.
11/03/94 - 11/04/94 Encina System Administration
Through the use of a basic Monitor example program, students gain an
understanding of the Encina Monitor environment as a whole, and how each DCE
and Encina component is used. Students will also acquire a basic understanding
of installation and configuration issues for the Encina Monitor,the
Structured File Server (SFS) and Log Service.
