Are there any installations that use the Transarc's AFS login on an Ultrix machine where enhanced security is activated? FYI: the enhanced security feature has the password in an authentication database (/etc/auth*), /etc/passwd only contains an '*' in place of the password. Our version of Transarc's login doesn't support the authentication database and for a number of reasons, we need to have local passwords too (not only for root), which need to be hidden... So, what solutions did fellow AFS/Ultrix admins find to solve that problem? P.S: I solved it sofar by hacking up old BSD code.
