AFS System Administration
This course prepares students to plan, install, manage and recover the
distributed file system, AFS. This class covers terms and concepts
for effective AFS administration including planning for growth and
end user training needs, and troubleshooting. System administration
tasks taught include managing client machines and volumes, account
creation and the AFS backup system. Cost: $1,600 per enrollee.
Course Dates: 2/13/95 - 2/15/95.
DCE Secure Core System Administration
This class teaches the functionality of each component of the DCE
Secure Core, as well as the interaction between the various
components. It also addresses tasks that a system administrator will
need to perform, such as backup and restore, cell reconfiguration, and
security. Cost: $1200 per enrollee. Course Dates: 2/13/95 - 2/15/94.
DFS System Administration
This class teaches the functionality of DFS and the different
components that comprise the distributed file system. This class
focuses on tasks a system administration will need to perform,
including the administration of file sets, client and server
machines, backup and restore, and DFS account administration.
Cost:$1,000 per enrollee. Course Dates: 2/16/95 - 2/17/95.
Encina Monitor System Administration
Through the use of basic Monitor examples, students gain an
understanding of the Encina Monitor environment as a whole, and how
each DCE and Encina component is used. Students will also acquire a
basic understanding of installation and configuration issues of
the Encina Monitor, the Structured File Server and Log Service.
Cost: $1,000 per enrollee. Course Dates: 2/16/95 - 2/17/95

Encina Application Development
This class provides a foundation for writing transactional
client/server applications using the Encina products. This class is
composed of four modules : Transactional Application Development and
the Encina Monitor (2 days), Encina Recoverable Queueing Service
Application Development (1 day), Encina Structured File Server
Application Development (1 day), and Encina Peer-to-Peer Communication
Services Application Development (1 day). Modules may be taken
separately with the Transactional Application Development and
the Encina Monitor module as a prerequisite. Cost: $500 per day
per enrollee. Course Dates: 2/27/95 - 2/31/95.
Location
All courses listed here will be held at Salomon Brothers, World Trade
Center, NY. Specific information will be provided upon registration.
