I've placed a new version of the MIT binary distribution of AFS 3.3 for NetBSD into the afs-contrib area (/afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/bin/netbsd.client). I'm calling this release "1.15" (bumping release numbers to match what's printed out at modload time). As usual, contact your site AFS administrator to get access to these files (access is restricted to sites licensed for the AFS client code). This release fixes a serious bug. Earlier versions do not honor requests to set file system modification times on AFS files. [You would see this with something like 'cp -p' or 'tar xvf <tarfile>'] The following NetBSD ports are supported: HP300/m68k4k: compiled for 1.0 and -current sparc: compiled for 1.0 and -current i386: compiled for 1.0 and -current If you have another NetBSD port for which you'd like AFS built, and can provide network access to same, please contact me privately to see if we can make porting arrangements. The distributions themselves are constructed as a "package" (a stylized compressed tar file with install script support). You can fetch the package tools: via FTP from either ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/tools/src/pkg_src.tar.gz or ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/packages/tools/binaries/NetBSD-1.0/i386/pkg_install.tar.gz (i386 binaries). I intend to put source diffs into the Transarc source sharing area, but I'm still waiting on final approval from MIT. I apologize for the delay. I will announce a source diff release when it is prepared and ready for external use. The source diffs will only be available to Transarc source licensees. MD5 hashes of the distribution: 09d9ab43cc6d4eab122a3ceda8700957 afs33-i386.README f4e43903eed78798b51937c187bf4797 afs33-sparc.README b5c94be5c8c5c0a94c464492b7059db6 afs33-m68k4k.README a78de8c9b09114897426cc7e288431d5 afs33-i386-1.15.tgz 1d7d2809d5416ff184a6fd07535813cf afs33-m68k4k-1.15.tgz d6e45bea75fd6cbe2a306253fbe5ac10 afs33-sparc-1.15.tgz A BETSI certificate will be obtained shortly and placed with these files. Enjoy! ==John
