We switched of the weekly restarts two or three years ago. If you
run batch jobs in an afs environment, there is no convenient time
to restart the files servers anyway. We have never experienced any
problems. One of our servers ran uninterrupted for eight month, then
it was stopped by a power interruption. All servers are RS/6k boxes.
