As far as I know, IBM does not have redistribution rights to AFS. AFS
is still a Transarc product, and although Transarc is now owned by IBM,
Transarc is still held accountable by IBM for their profits.  So, talk
to Transarc, not IBM.  Maybe they would sell it if they thought it
would be profitable.

A DFS client for OS/2 has been under development for quite some time
and there is a beta program scheduled to start real soon.  The contact
at IBM for that program is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Move to DFS, then you
might have a chance of getting some of these enhancements you want (and
some of them are already there).
