That's right.  Not only that, but ADSM won't even recognize an AFS file 
system (as AFS, i mean) on non-AIX machines.  we are very concerned about 
the future of ADSM and AFS.   In a previous version (4.2, I think), virtual 
mount points were recognized on non-AIX systems.  But that was "fixed", so 
now it doesn't any more (version 4.3).  We're afraid of the official ADSM 
policy of "no support of AFS on non-AIX systems."  We're afraid somebody 
will "fix" that, too,so it will refuse to even read AFS files on non-AIX 
systems.  We have been trying to get a clear statement on this subject from 
IBM, but they are totally incapable of understanding our concern (or else 
they are completely unwilling to listen to them).

I find this quite depressing.
