But this still requires that you convert your ticket to version 4
format. This discussion is about using k5 natively with AFS.
Because Kerberos 4 has known security problems, and AFS is one of the
last systems that only uses it, it is of interest to make kerberos 5
work directly with AFS. There are other reasons too, such as the fact
that nobody is *really* maintaining kerberos 4 these days (we do
mostly bug-fixing).
