Hi,
I don't have an answer to your question. However,
there is something fishy about the MS W/NT cache.
Some Win32 file-related operations seem to have
problems with it. Apart from the MS Outlook problems,
I experienced difficulties with IDL (Research Systems,
Bolder, CO) graphical/numerical scripting language.
The call to FIND_FILE (finds all filenames of
a given pattern) that is working perfectly
well on a local filesystem sometimes returns
wrong files under AFS. This is not a concurrent
access problem and it's a read-only operation.
I blame AFS since if you copy a directory to the local
store, it works fine and it used to work fine under
NFS when we had it.
