Aren't these exclusive?  Or do you mean
If Keyword is NOT expanded, do not expand
But if Keyword is expanded keep the same string length.

Are you sure the tool only checks for length and not content as well?

The -ko and -kb do this type of thing with slight differences.

-ko will generate the existing keyword expansion and not re-expand
-kb will work as -ko and prevent line feed conversion.
