Howdy (again):
I tried the env trick in inetd.conf, but it doesn't seem to help.
I tried:
env --unset=home
env -
env home=
The first one gives this error:
> cvs login (Logging in to arnold@shiva)
> cvs [login aborted]: recv() from server shiva: Connection reset by
> peer
>
> *****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
while the last two give this error:
> cvs login (Logging in to arnold@shiva)
> cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from shiva: CVS commands are:
>
> *****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
CVS-web still barfs with the same error as before.
I just found one of the messages on egroups about my first post,
and it seems to me (from my layman's perspective) that CVS should
*not* have to be patched (or kluged) to deal with this, rather
inetd should behave correctly. Do the RedHat weenies know about
this? What was their response? Why doesn't the env trick work for
me?
Thanks again, Steve
