Hi,

I'm using Win95 and WinCVS, for my final year project and I really need some
help with this last part.

I've got a directory in the repository containing one binary file (*.doc)

I check it out to my working directory:
'cd c:\working'
'cvs co -A projecta\projecta'

I can now view the file in MS Word.

I then want to view a previous revision of the file.
I use from the working directory where the file has been checked out to:
'cvs update -r 1.1'

I get the following message:
'CVS.EXE update: Updating .
U testdrafta.doc

C:\working\testdrafta>'

I then try to open the file in MS Word and it complains that it cannot open
the file, and it tells me to make sure that it has a .doc extension....It
does! I checked the properities of the file & they say that it is a MS Word
document.

So what I am I doing wrong?

I've checked the user documentation and the mail list archives, but I'm
still lost.

Also, if I decide that I don't want to use that particular revision, can I
just delete it from my working directory, or must I let CVS know that I
don't intend to use it, and that the latest revision in the repository is
fine?

Any help or pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Peter
