Questions About CVS and WinCvs

I have a couple of questions about:

"WinCvs 1.0 *STABLE* / Client + Local / Binaries"
the x86 version 1.0.6 final (last updated 3/23/99)

1. Can I use WinCvs 1.0.6 with CVS server (Unix) versions
    that are newer than 1.10.5 (1.10.6, 7, 8)?

2. New: cvs-1.10-5 support
    what does this mean?
