Is there a limitation for the size of the revision number for a file in
CVS/RCS?
I am using CVS v1.6.
I have a file which when committed to the repository had the revison number
1.54.12.1.2.1.2.1.2.6.2.2.2.5 and when I rtag'ed it for a new branch CVS
tagged it with revision number 1.54.12.1.2.1.2.1.2.6.2.2.2.5.0.2.
While rtagging it gave the following warning
rcs warning: empty descriptive text
Now when I try to check out the file using the tag associated with this
revision number, CVS cannot check it out. The error obtained is as follows
co error, line 432: Can't find delta for revision 1.54
co aborted
cvs checkout: could not check out <filename>
what can be the possible reason for the above and what could be the
workarounds for the same?
Any Inputs would be highly useful.
