All,

We've been using CVS for about 6 months now successfully. We
have many projects up and running. Suddenly, starting yesterday,
any time I did a "cvs update" on any project that I am working
on (I have about 5 active at the moment), an Emptydir/ would get
created in the CVSROOT. Immediately, nobody else could do anything.
If they did an update, they got a catastrophic error which referenced
the Emptydir. I thought that this Emptydir only showed up when
something was messed up in the modules file. We've had it happen
before and have been able to easily see a problem in the modules
file and fix it. Now, I'm stumped. Any time I do anything in
CVS, the Emptydir gets created and the repository basically stops
working, at least from the point of view of anybody else being
able to do anything with it. Can somebody tell me the situations
where Emptydir is created and how to avoid them?
