What exactly do you mean by having something "checked out".

I'm assuming you mean someone has locally changed the file and intends on
committing the changes at some point.  Either use the "cvs watch" and "cvs edit"
features of CVS, or do a "cvs -n up" in each checked out copy of the module.
The latter may not do exactly what you want since it'll catch all modifications
(whether intended for commit or not).

Hello,

Is there a way in UNIX or WinCVS to get a list of users that have
checked out files but have not checked them in?  We need this function
for release management.

If there a previous discussion on the same topic, I'd appreciate it if
anyone would tell me how to locate it.  Thanks!
