I've just checked in a change that adds a "version" command -- it gives
just the version message without all the copyright and help stuff you
get from -v and, if the specified repository is remote, it gives the
version for both client and server. I thought about building it in to
-v rather than adding a new command, but it seemed like a good idea to
keep -v purely local; I'll entertain suggestions to the contrary,
though.
