thanks for the comments Hal. I've used rsync & ssh quite successfully in
the past (and in the present too) and think its a wonderful tool.
However the problem that has arisen, and maybe it my lack of understanding,
if we have to switch to a backup repository for a while how do integrate
then changes in the backup repository to the masters. I know cvsup handles
this pretty well but I don't know about rsync. or how to do it
here is part of cron script that I run a one of the backup machines
/usr/bin/rsync -avz --stats --delete -e ssh master.server.com:/CVS
/opt/repoBackup 2>&1 >>logfile
