You might want to ask your local admin about this first.  There
could be a reason for the firewall being there at all.  But he
could just as well kill time and only act like he would care, I
don't know and I cannot judge this from here. :)

Usually cvs in network mode is done via pserver (from any to 2401
tcp) or ssh (from any to 22 tcp).  Rarely you might find rsh, but
nobody really would suggest you do this.

I don't know about this, you might want to use the archives.
