That error message doesn't look quite right for CVS 1.11 -- did you
mistranscribe it or is the server not CVS 1.11? Try ``cvs version'' in
that directory and see what it says. There should be another line
giving the actual error. It might be useful to see an ``ls -alR
/tmp/cvs-serv12343''.
