Trouble to Connection

Hi all:
When I executed: telnet  servername 2401 for debug :pserver: the system
doesn't permit entry to server.
This is the ouptut that I got:
                           Connection Closed by foreign host.
In Appendix F (page 150) I saw that this was one way to connect to
server.
Someone can help me!!!
