No, it is only used for :pserver:. Historically, the user was in complete control of the server command line, so it didn't make any sense to try to use its contents to control what the user was allowed to do. Even with SSH, it has to be set up very carefully or it's totally ineffective. I haven't yet heard an overwhelming demand to change it. -Larry Jones That's one of the remarkable things about life.
