I was neither "whining" nor "bugging the maintainers". I was merely pointing out a fact: the problem has existed for a while and isn't likely to be fixed, at least in the near future. Nor do I see what Richard's statement has to do with the subject at hand. Many of the GNU programs compile OOB on Win32. These aren't *ports*, they're core code. As is the case with CVS; the Win32 code and executable are straight from cvshome.org, not from one of the many ports (CVSNT among them).
