The check_cvs.pl script is probably out of date. IIRC, there is an
array or hash in the script you can just add the list of files CVS init
creates. This applies to history, verifymsg, and config. The .#* files
are backups from the last time CVS tried to update files in your
CVSROOT. They're there so that if you check in something that breaks
CVS operation the change can be easily reversed.
