I am always curious to find out HOW a tool works, and WHY it works this way. There are mainly two reasons for this: 1. If I know how a tool works and why it does so, I might be able to use it in a "better way". I might prevent myself from trying to do things the tool is not designed for, for example. This can save some hours of work. ;) 2. If I understand the rationale behind the one or the other decision, I might find that idea a good one, and use it (or a similar one) in an own project. Thus, I am trying to educate myself from other's decisions. This is the reason why I ask such questions. Of course, I treat CVS revisions as opaque if I work with CVS, I do not want to mess with it.
