To get multiple short pulses, you will need multiple strobe lamps.
You have to find a strobe that will meet your timing requirements.

The multiple image that you describe is exactly what the gated intensifiers
produce when triggered multiple times per camera image.

If you do not need the image sequence, but can do with multiple exposures
per image, then a gated intensifier or multiple strobes into a slower CCD
camera is less costly.

What resolution image do you need to capture?
One can trade image size for frequency of frame rate.
