As many of you know, Roper Scientific purchased both Redlake and Kodak's
Motion Analysis Systems Division (MASD) toward the end of last year.
Some of you may have also heard that, yesterday, some significant changes took
place in San Diego - at what was the Kodak's MASD facility. After hearing of
these events, and a number of rumors associated with them, I contacted the
people at Roper and asked for clarification. I suggested that it might be
appropriate for them (Roper) to provide something that I could post to this
list.
Late this afternoon I received the following announcement from Steve Ferrell. I
have taken the liberty of converting the announcement from a Word document to
raw text, so I could embed it in an e-mail message-simply to facilitate
distribution to this list; otherwise, the announcement is unaltered.
The announcement is factual, and contains no advertising, per se, so I believe
it's appropriate for this forum. If anyone has any questions/comments, please

BEGIN ROPER'S ANNOUNCEMENT ...
Roper Scientific MASD, Inc. ANNOUNCES RESTRUCTURING
February 15, 2000 ... Roper Scientific MASD, Inc. announced that it has
implemented a planned restructuring. This restructuring brings a new management
team to MASD to help make it a more innovative and effective, customer-focused
organization. The sales forces and distribution networks for the motion
analysis products of MASD and Redlake Imaging have been integrated, making them
one of the largest on a worldwide basis. The industrial camera products of MASD
will be distributed by Roper Scientific's sales distribution networks,
improving customer access to these products.
The new management team of MASD is as follows:
GENERAL MANAGEMENT
Kent Johnson, who has been operating as the interim General Manager, becomes
the General Manager.
Don Linehan, formerly the Accounting Manager, becomes Financial Manager for
MASD.
Jerry Hooley, formerly the Supply Chain Manager, becomes the Manufacturing
Operations Manager for MASD
Terry Gibson has been promoted to an Executive Vice President of the business,
and becomes the Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
The current position of R&D manager remains open.
MOTION ANALYSIS PRODUCTS
The North American sales for MASD and Redlake motion product continues to be
managed by Page Milliken.
Ron Marcar becomes General Manager of Roper Scientific BV and is responsible
for European sales.
We continue to have distribution contracts in Japan and Korea with the Kodak
organizations.
In the rest of Asia and Latin America our motion analysis sales continues to be
handled by our local distributors and managed by Wojciech Majewski of Redlake
Imaging.
INDUSTRIAL CAMERA PRODUCTS
Terry Guy becomes the Product Line Manager for MASD's Industrial Camera
products.
In North America, the current sales people and manufacturers representatives
will continue to sell MASD's Industrial Camera products, and be managed by John
Alford.
Rene Stevens continues to manage the Industrial Camera sales of MASD business
in Europe.
We continue to have distribution contracts in Japan and Korea with the Kodak
organizations.
In the remainder of Asia and Latin America our industrial camera sales will
continues to be handled by our local distributors and managed out of San Diego.
