This has become a topic on the State Assistive Technology list-serve in the last several days. Here is one persons response.
I would suggest you look at C-Print or TypeWell. These programs are used a great deal by students with hearing loss. You have the link for C-Print. Here's the link for TypeWell; http://www.typewell.com/ Lisa, I would also talk to Nancy Moothart at AEA 267. She is a consultant for the hard of hearing/deaf and knows her stuff. Other than the teacher writing out notes every day, I don't know of any software that would work. The Special Ed people have tried Dragon Naturally Speaking and wireless Bluetooth headsets and an associate to go along with him. You can imagine how badly that works. How are other districts handling the deaf students? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Tony Richardson Technology Coordinator Humboldt Community School District [email protected]
