File naming between M$ Windows and *nix system has always been messy.

Yes, but in case a problem arises I require to be informed.
Silently failing and loosing mail is not an acceptable behaviour.



That was the main reason I refuse to support OutLook at all.
Really: my customers must either use a decent mail client, or find another person to run their servers.
Period.
