Nothing special.

That does smell like a bug, but I guess it doesn't matter now.
When I install the system the idea is to have both. But with time cyrus
work fine .... but the sync.

So I'm thinking to drop the sync and just keep the zfs send/recv

It's what we've been doing for a few years now, and so far it has been working fine. We're taking and shipping snapshots every five minutes, that's fine with the users and keeps the performance impact minimal.
