I see in my journal the following error message:

IOERROR: opening index failed: mailbox=<user.USER.sent> error=<System I/O error> syserror=<No such file or directory> func=<mailbox_open_advanced>

Is this relevant? How can I fix this?

I'm guessing a bit here, but it could be that the mailbox subscription list for the user got confused when you changed from . separators to / separators.   I know I had problems with subscriptions when I upgraded.

If it is a subscription thing, you can fix it by:

- Finding the user's .sub file, usually under /var/imap/user/j/joe.sub or something similar.
- Shut down cyrus
- Edit the .sub file and delete the offending line
- Start cyrus
- Get the user to re-subscribe to the folder from Thunderbird

I don't have any .sub files or directories named that way in my cyrus folders....
