Usually deleting the netscape.hst and clearing the cache works for me.

IPF and GPF errors can be elusive, and may be system-specific... There
are several things to try, one at a time...
Following are selected from suggestions in the Communicator User
Group. Try the usual first-aid. Close NetScape. Then use your file
manager to delete NETSCAPE.HST and the CACHE directory. They will be
built anew as you surf.
Seek out an updated video driver from the chip or card manufacturer's
WEBsite.
Also try different color depths, under Control Panel|DISPLAY|SETTINGS.
Try a different MFC40.DLL, available here:
http://solo.abac.com/dllarchive/M.html. Unzip it after downloading,
then copy it to c:\windows\system after renaming the current file to
MFC40.old. Export any certificates (if any) and rename CERT7.DB and
KEY3.DB files in the NETSCAPE\USERS\<your profile> directory.
Do all the above with NS closed; use your file manager.
Rename the file advert.dll to advert.bak
Deselect dynamic fonts.
