I don't know what flies rundll hooks (and I don't feel like looking right now :-) ).  The first file you listed, win386.swp, is the windows swap file.  It is always open.  You can't close it.  Also, Ctrl-Alt-Del is a perpetual liar.  It only shows you the stuff that Windows wants you to see.  If you really want to know all the processes and threads that are really running on your PC, go get ATM.  I am guessing that the other files you listed are probably related to Active Desktop or some other component of Internet Explorer.

Larry,

There were no other apps in use at that time. I went to CTRL+ALT+DEL and closed everything except Explorer and Rundll. I may have also left Systray open but not certain.

Hi Everyone

I've been using InoculateIT PC for a number of months now but am unable to
understand why some of the files cannot be scanned. Is it because it's
unnecessary or are the .dat files blocked in such a way as not to cause
virus from attacking them.

Your comments please? Below is the data I received after upgrading,
downloading the newest virus.dat, installing it and running a full scan.

Rita
