Subject: * informant * printer error

My daughter emailed me for help with computer/printer and I know nothing about her problem.

She has an IBM clone, running Win 98.  With first her printer, Hewlett Packard 720c, she was getting messages to the effect that there was no communication with printer.  She now has a Cannon Multipass 5500 and still has problems.  At first, it would print only 2 or 3 pages.  Now, she is again getting the message that there's no communication between computer and printer.

Does anyone know what steps she should take now.  She already took CPU to technician, who was no help.  Is she better off to buy new CPU than to spend big bucks with technician?  All help appreciated.

Lee
