Partition Magic is the easiest way to go. The advantages are many; keep different data
on different partitions; docs on D; music on E, graphics on F etc. However the most
advantageous thing is that you can use a large HDD more efficiently by partitioning.
The cluster size at 8 GHz or less is only 4 Kb. What this means is if you have a 33 Kb
file it will use 9 clusters, 8 of which will be filled completely (8x4=32) and 1 more
cluster for that extra Kb, the 33rd one. That will leave only 3 Kb in that cluster
which cannot be used by anything else. I can't find my cluster chart but as the size
of the partition goes up so does the cluster size; 8Kb, 16 Kb etc. In a larger
partition that same 33 Kb at 16 Kb clusters will use 3 clusters; 2 for 32 Kb and the
third Kb will use up a 16 Kb cluster with a waste of 15 Kb that can't be used by
anything else. The smaller the clusters, the less waste.
