Hi everyone,
On my computer here at work, until a week or so ago, I was able, say for
example at mp3.com, click on a link to download an mp3, and the download
dialog box would pop up asking if I wanted to save, etc., same as if I were
downloading a program. Great, that's exactly the way I like it. I'm using
the latest version of IE.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, I downloaded the newest QuickTime 5 because
there was something not running correctly on my computer. I notice last
week when I tried to download a mp3 from mp3.com that it would not let me,
but it opened the mp3 within the browser. So at that point, I wiped QT off
the computer completely.
Today I tried to download another mp3 from mp3.com, and it now gives me
this error:
QuickTime Unavailable: QT failed to initialize, Error #0; Please make sure
QT is properly installed on this computer.
And then:
Plugin Error: The plugin did not initialize properly.
It will not let me download the mp3 unless I "save target as", but I don't
prefer to do that. I've reinstalled winamp, deleted all QT associations I
can find and shell extensions, but it still comes up with the error. I've
rebooted afterwards to no success.
Any suggestions besides reinstalling Quicktime? Please help as this is
driving me crazy now! :)
Thanks!
Holly
PS, Anyone know why if I "Delete Files" from the IE Internet Properties
panels, the entire panel freezed and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del it?
Reinstalling IE didn't solve that...
