I have some questions about DSL which my ISP has not answered. It
seems they never check their techsupport email box, so perhaps
someone here has DSL and can answer these questions.

* Comes with one phone filter, so can I place and receive phone calls
while online?

* What's the limit on number of phones and still be able to use the
internet?

* Option to purchase more phone line filters, but I will only have one
phone number, correct?

* Anyway to run a menu style answering service type application on a
DSL line similar to a PBX system to allow incoming caller to choose
which phone to send the call to (extension?) or voice mail?

* This all means I can do away with my regular line once I get the
DSL?

Many linux caller-id programs for ISDN at freshmeat.net. I wonder if
they work on DSL too?

My ISP has a number to call, but I was hoping to make my decision
whether to get DSL or not without all the sales pitches. The main
problem is the price, which seems to be 15-20% higher than the
national average DSL with the highest speed and static IP option;
however, my phone bill is already around $100-$120 a month with few
long distance calls.

If you have DSL, I would like your opinion.
