Korean lock-maker Irevo specializes in electronic locks, some of which include a Secure ID-style fob that changes your password every time you use it. Seems useful. In contrast, the eGateman looks like an crime wave waiting to happen. According to Irevo, the eGateman can be accessed via cellphone, over a home network, and via a wireless RF network. We only hope that some of the security work Irevo developed for earlier locks (the company boasts that its ³Floating ID² provides 281 trillion individual IDs) was carried over to this thing. Otherwise, next time someone compromises your home network, they may just be able to get into your home as well. http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000240064339/ You are a subscribed member of the infowarrior list.
