Redmond Mulls Emergency Patch for IE Attacks http://www.anandtech.com/news/shownews.aspx?i=25376
Microsoft could be on the verge of releasing a patch to fix a major security hole in the Internet Explorer web browser. The Redmond-based company is scheduled to release a slew of patches on December 13th, but this exploit is devastating enough to warrant a patch sooner: However, a source familiar with the company's thinking said the out-of-cycle update is dependent on the patch holding up through a "very rigorous" quality assurance testing process. "If the patch isn't ready from a quality standpoint, it won't be released. But with an attack already underway, I think you'll see an emergency patch," the source said.
