Resum de la confer�ncia
The development and spread of regional, national, and global
languages has always been intimately connected to the emergence of
new technologies of communication, and the World Wide Web is no
exception. Will the Web be "a great force for the Anglification
of the planet," as one observer suggests, or will it in fact
strengthen the relative positions of smaller national and regional
languages? Will it promote the cohesiveness of trans-national
language communities? And how will it affect the internal
organization of language communities and their discourses?
While the technology is still very recent, some answers are
beginning to emerge.
