Modes of Being in Catalan Culture
Modern Language Association
Philadelphia December 27-30, 2006
Call for Papers
This session will explore Catalan culture focusing on the
relationship between the individual and society. What aesthetic
strategies underline national, class and gender identities? How does
exile and immigration (de)stabilize notions of selfhood? How
narratives and visual forms express the desire for personal and
national emancipation? Proposals for 20 minutes papers are welcome in
any area of Catalan Studies. All proposals should include a title and an
abstract of approximately 200 words and should be sent via e- mail to
Elisa Martí-López ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) no later than March
13, 2006.
